We love taking our dogs on holiday so wanted to offer that option for guests. Pets are welcome in the Barley Barn, Hay Barn and Cart Lodge. 2 large dogs or 3 small maximum please. Additional £8 (inc. VAT) per dog, per day. If you have somewhere to go and need some help, we can organise pet setting or walking if required.
We try to keep the Shire Stables pet free as we appreciate some people have allergies or prefer a pet free environment. (Assistance dogs accepted, please enquire.)
We steam clean where possible and try to use cleaning products and procedures that are safe for the environment. The sewage is a biological treatment plant system that is Certified to European Standards with 95% pollution removal. We kindly ask guests not to use bleach or other powerful cleaning products.
For bookings made directly with us, in the event that we are required to close on your dates and cancel your booking, a full refund will be given.
If you wish to cancel you must inform us by e-mail.
Please contact us for a copy of the cancellation policy.
The barns and surrounding fields have been part of a working farm for hundreds of years. Ancient maps and electoral records show the original name as Gimcreeks Farm. Over the centuries the name changed due to inaccuracies in record keeping but maps from the 1800’s show it as its current name, Jepcrack’s Farm.
When we bought them, the farm buildings had been redundant for decades. Having spent several years designing, renovating and rebuilding the Hay Barn, Barley Barn and Cart Lodge, we started welcoming guests in 2011. This was followed a few years later by the Shire Stables, which was originally the stables for the Shire horses that worked the land.
